    Decision notes

Three questions that usually decide it

    How many catalogs?

If the answer is one, Community is enough for that dimension. If it is more than five, Enterprise is the published fit.

    Who updates prices?

Bulk edit screens, import export and the scheduler sit with Professional and Enterprise. Daily manual editing is a different workload.

    Who supports the store?

Community support is community based. Professional includes standard support. Enterprise includes priority unlimited support.

    Questions

    Edition questions

Which edition should a first store choose?

Start with the Community Edition if one store, one catalog, one warehouse and 500 products are enough. Move to Professional when content management, bulk updates, the scheduler, import export or more capacity become necessary.

Are the prices on this site current?

The figures shown are the published list prices from the previous site: $3,490 per year or €2,990 per year for Professional. Confirm current pricing, taxes and contract terms with Magelia before purchase.

    Is there a trial?

The published Professional offer included a 45 day trial. Ask Magelia to confirm the current trial process and what is included.

Can the Community Edition be used commercially?

It is released under the Open Software License 3.0. Read the licence and, if the intended use is unusual, take qualified legal advice. The canonical text is published by the Open Source Initiative.

Where does the source code live?

The Community Edition provides access to the core source. The original CodePlex community site is no longer reachable. Contact Magelia for the current distribution and support route.

Does the hosted demo still exist?

The classic demo host no longer resolves. The demo page provides a static console walkthrough instead, and Magelia can arrange a guided session.

Can I host the storefront on any platform?

The services layer accepts calls from any HTTP capable client. The reference implementation and client tools target the Microsoft .NET stack, including SQL Server and IIS.

    How do I compare editions?

Use the comparison page for the published limits and feature differences, then confirm availability and support terms in writing with Magelia.

Get the edition decision in writing

Ask for the current price, the licence terms and the support agreement together. The comparison table is a starting point, not a contract.
