Setup, concepts and the quick start
The guides explain the legacy baseline and the commerce vocabulary. Where a page depends on an old installer, it says so.
Installation
The published baseline is .NET 4.5, IIS 7 and SQL Server Express 2008 or above. Confirm current support before a new deployment.
The installation guide covers prerequisites, the Web Platform Installer route, database preparation, the console, the client and a first verification order.
Microsoft WebPI was the original installer. If it is no longer maintained for this package, ask Magelia for the current distribution route.
Quick start
A short sequence for a test installation. Do not use it as a production runbook.
- 01Prepare the server.Install the supported runtime, IIS and SQL Server. Confirm the service accounts and permissions.
- 02Install the application.Use the current distribution route and record the version.
- 03Create a store.Choose the language, currency and catalog for the test.
- 04Add a product.Create a category, a product type, a product and a price.
- 05Connect a client.Call the catalog and basket services from the sample storefront.
- 06Place a test order.Check tax, shipping, stock and the order record.
Concepts and terminology
The glossary defines the words used across the console, the services and this site. It is short on purpose: a shared vocabulary is more useful than a long appendix.
Most integration misunderstandings start with a different definition of catalog, store or variant.

Install once, then document your version
Record the runtime, database, installer and client version you actually deployed. Future you will need that page.
