Sales promotions - Required conditions

Conditions are defined in this screen. If the requirements are correctly fulfilled, then the discount will be granted. If the requirements are not met, then the discount will not be granted.

The Magelia WebStore management system for conditions enables the definition of several conditions and the logical operators among these conditions. This allows the marketing department the ability to produce very specific marketing initiatives.

Simplify data entry by using the context-sensitive help feature.

In many cases, the system will require you to enter-in the values because the list of values tends to be too long. By simply entering in the first characters, an auto-completion help feature will appear. You can also use the arrows at the bottom of your keyboard in order to see the possible values.

How to? Define Simple Conditions:
- The conditions based on the order amount: this condition is defined by a given currency in terms of ranges, and defined with or without tax, discounts and/or shipping. The same condition can be defined in the different currencies found on the website.
- The conditions based on delivery: choose a carrier in order to limit the application of a sales promotion to one single carrier. This is especially useful for discounts on shipping fees.
- The conditions based on the product: You can specify that a sales promotion is only valid for certain products, brands, catalogs, categories, product types, SKUs, and suppliers.
- The conditions based on the customer: you can limit the sales promotion application field in terms of the customer creation date, e-mail, e-mail domain, customer name, or customer segment.

How to? Define the number of maximum applications of a sales promotion by using the Maximum Application condition:
The Magelia WebStore sales promotion system enables the definition of the maximum number of applications of a discount per order, per client, or combined. Simply use the Maximum Condition Application. This condition can be defined by:

- A number of applications per order: this allows the greatest number of customers to benefit from the discount.
- A number of applications per customer: this prevents the customer from placing several orders just in order to have the discount.
- A number of total applications: if you have established a budget that cannot be exceeded, or if you have a limited number of gifts to give away, use this condition.

How to? Limit the simultaneous application of several discounts:
Occasionally, certain discounts are so beneficial to the customer that you do not want other discounts to be applicable at the same time.

For example, a 50% discount on watches from the summer catalog and a 30% discount for new customers, but you do not want the watch discount to be combined with the new customer discount, follow these steps:

1 - Define your sales promotion for watches and tag it “Summer Watch.”
2 - Create a discount for new customers and assign the Customer Creation Date condition by indicating the start and end dates of the sales promotion. Add a second condition (AND operator) and an “Excluded” tag type for which you will indicate “Summer Watch” in the tag field. If the first discount applies then this discount will not apply.

Therefore, if the 50% discount on watches is applied, the shopping cart will be tagged “Summer Watch”. When the system recognizes that the new customer discount must be applied, it will verify the creation date and, if the customer already has the “Summer Watch” tag in the shopping cart, the system will not apply the new customer discount because the watch discount is included in the tags that prevent the application of the former.
